Tottenham have already made a big splash this summer with the signing of Sandro Tonali for a club-record £100m, but the spending hasn’t stopped.
As Roberto De Zerbi continues to rebuild his squad, all eyes are on Man City winger Sabinho, another player admired by Spurs’ recruitment team.
Savinho has been attracting attention from Europe’s biggest clubs in recent years.
Barcelona manager Deco was exploring the possibility of signing the Brazilian during his break with Girona in 2023, a move confirmed by then sporting director Quique Carcel before City moved to sign him in a City Football Group setup.

In an interview with talkSPORT, transfer journalist Ben Jacobs revealed that Sabinho is a priority target for Spurs as they look to strengthen their attack following the arrival of Tonali.
“Their main focus is Sabinho,” Jacobs said.
“Let’s see if Manchester City’s board approves the deal.”
These comments suggest the biggest hurdle may not be convincing players, but convincing City to part with one of their talented young attackers.
Sabinho has shown glimpses of his huge potential, but cracking into the starting XI has never been easy given the competition for places.
That’s where Tottenham can offer something different.
Regular Premier League football, a central role in De Zerbi’s attacking plans and the opportunity to be one of the team’s headline players would make north London an attractive destination if City decide a sale or loan is the right move.
Why Sabinho and Tottenham are a match made in heaven
Sabinho’s play seems to suit De Zerbi’s style well.
He moves when receiving the ball in space, attacks full-backs with confidence and has the acceleration to stretch the defensive line.
The Brazilian is equally comfortable creating chances for his team-mates and getting into dangerous shooting positions himself, making him a real threat from wide range, even if the final product needs some improvement.
If Tottenham can persuade City to negotiate, it could be an exciting new business.
