According to X’s Diario AS journalist Eduardo Burgos, the Red Devils are expected to sign Santos from Chelsea, as widely reported by Fabrizio Romano, but Ederson’s contract with Atalanta is currently off.

He added: “Although the signing of Andrej Santos has been finalized and the addition of Ederson has been ruled out, Manchester United are still looking to add two other midfielders. The list includes:
-Manu Kone: Roma wants to increase his value at the World Cup.
-Alex Scott: A coveted player given his age and potential, but the price will be high.
-Ayub Bouadi: They have been following him since the beginning of the season and since the World Cup. ”

Who should Manchester United sign in midfield?
With Casemiro out and Manuel Ugarte out with an injury that could keep him out for a long time, it’s clear that we need new reinforcements in midfield.
Adding Santos will help, but they definitely need at least one more player, so it will be interesting to see what profile they go for.
Players like Bouadi and Kone could perhaps look like direct successors to Casemiro, while players like Scott could be interesting in terms of giving the team a little more ball skill and quality in that area.
Much will depend on availability and asking price, but it will also impact Michael Carrick’s play next season.
