  • Manchester United reject transfer request for Amad Diallo
  • It was United’s right decision to keep the winger.

Manchester United have made their position clear on one of manager Michael Carrick’s most exciting attacking options as interest continues to grow ahead of the new season.

United could command a big transfer fee, with multiple clubs looking for a young, versatile forward, but Old Trafford’s hierarchy currently see great value in retaining the player and supporting his development.

The decision also reflects Carrick’s need for a different offensive profile.

United already have several forwards who prefer playing from the left or central areas, but a creative left-footed option on the right gives the team great balance and unpredictability.

Manchester United reject transfer request for Amad Diallo

Fabrizio Romano says Amad Diallo’s agent was informed in June that Manchester United had no intention of selling him this summer.

Despite his links with multiple clubs, United continue to have faith in the Ivory Coast international and see him as a key part of their plans.

Newcastle United and Brighton are said to be interested. African Soccer reports that the Premier League pair are keeping an eye on Amad, but United remain unwilling to entertain an offer for the 24-year-old.

His resolute stance is backed up by his contract status. Reuters previously confirmed that Amad has signed a new contract until June 2030 and that United are under no financial pressure to consider a sale.

It was United’s right decision to keep the winger.

Amad’s 2025-26 season was quiet compared to his breakout season, but his value can’t be judged solely by goals and assists. His close control, movement between the lines and aggressiveness in pressing give Carrick tactical qualities that are difficult to find at an affordable price.

Man United are making the right decision. Selling Amad after an unproductive season would feel premature, especially when the club has already invested heavily in Amad’s development.

However, trust must be followed by meaningful opportunities. If United decline the attractive offer, Carrick should give him a clear role rather than leaving him as an occasional substitute.

Amad still needs more consistency, but his talent is clear. Retaining him would give United a creative and versatile attacker whose value could increase significantly if he becomes a regular next season.
