  • Totteham considering summer sale, Inter Milan begin negotiations
  • Spurs rebuild could create opportunities at San Siro

Tottenham Hotspur’s summer rebuild could lead to another surprise departure, with the club reportedly prepared to consider an offer for one of England’s standout players at the World Cup.

Spurs have already undergone a major shake-up under manager Roberto De Zerbi and appear ready to bring in several senior players to create space in the squad and recoup some of the hefty transfer fee.

The decision remained unexpected considering the defender’s versatility and recent international performances.

However, without European football next season, Tottenham will have fewer games to offer their players.

Therefore, a move to Italy would give him a clearer role and potentially allow him to return to the Champions League immediately.

Totteham considering summer sale, Inter Milan begin negotiations

According to talkSPORT, Tottenham are open to letting Jed Spence go after his impressive performances for England.

Inter Milan have shown strong interest and are in talks over a possible deal, with the full-back believed to be open to joining the Serie A champions.

Spence played in all seven of England’s World Cup matches and was praised for his performance in the semi-final against Argentina.

He also made 30 appearances in the Premier League last season, showing he can provide reliable cover on either side of the defence.

Spurs rebuild could create opportunities at San Siro

Tottenham’s willingness to negotiate is part of an overhaul of the team as a whole.

The Times reports that several senior players could be on their way, with Spurs spending more than £200m on new signings and De Zerbi still looking to strengthen his attack.

Spurs remain in a strong position as Spence has signed a new long-term deal in August 2025.

Clubs can therefore request a reasonable fee rather than accept a discount offer.

Tottenham should not rush to sell Spence. His speed, raw status and ability to play at either right-back or left-back have made him invaluable over the long season.

However, a move could make sense if Inter offer him Champions League football and a regular starting spot. Spurs should only approve his departure for a hefty fee, as replacing such a flexible defender could prove more difficult and expensive than expected.
