West Ham tried desperately to survive last season, signing a number of players in January, and it mostly worked.
Tati Castellanos was their biggest name, joining for around £30 million and scoring seven goals by the end of the season. Now they have been relegated and he wants to be relegated, but it won’t be easy.
The 27-year-old scored in this week’s pre-season game against Stevenage but is hoping to make no further appearances for the Hammers.
The Argentine striker wants to leave, but it won’t be easy for him
The Argentine only has six months left on his four-and-a-half year contract, so West Ham are willing to let him go, but want a refund of the money they paid for him. That feels difficult to achieve considering the lack of interest in him so far this summer.
As West Ham Zone speculates, a loan move could be a good solution. The Hammers hope to return to the Premier League after just one year in the Championship, which could also allow Castellanos to play in the top flight next year.
However, getting a loan can sometimes be difficult.
It’s very likely that I will have to just sit back and play for them this season, but I hope I can score a goal in the Championship and leave enough of an impression to take another step up.
