Former WWE NXT talent Von Wagner, now competing under his real name Cal Bloom, is set to make his debut with All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW) next month, the promotion confirmed on Tuesday. This will mark Bloom’s first appearance in Japan, continuing the wrestling legacy of his father, Wayne Bloom, also known as Beau Beverly in the early 1990s.
AJPW shared a video on their Twitter (now X) page featuring HAVOC stable members Oddyssey, Shotaro Ashino, and Xyon welcoming Bloom, who revealed he’d be joining their ranks. According to AJPW’s website, Bloom’s debut will take place during the Founding Anniversary Series 2026 on October 22 at Korakuen Hall. However, details about whether Bloom will compete in a singles match or team with HAVOC members have not yet been disclosed. Bloom’s most recent bout occurred on March 14, where he defeated Lord Crewe at World Classic Professional Big Time Wrestling.
After concluding a college football career at the University of Central Florida, Bloom signed with WWE in March 2019 and debuted in the ring at a live event that May. He first appeared on NXT television as Von Wagner in September 2021, competing in a match for the vacant NXT Championship against LA Knight, Pete Dunne, and Tommaso Ciampa. His last NXT appearance was in April 2024 when he fell to Lexis King, shortly before his WWE release. Bloom returned to the independent circuit in March 2025 and briefly appeared on AEW Dynamite as a security guard. He also wrestled for ROH in April 2025 alongside Deonn Rusman in a losing effort against Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona.
