Liverpool received a boost by pursuing £409 million, as it became clear that despite interest from Real Madrid, they could be tempted to travel to Anfield this summer.

The Reds’ rivalry with Real Madrid continues

The Reds lost two Champions League finals against Real Madrid during their time at Jurgen Klopp, and Thibaut Courtau pulled out all stops to secure a 1-0 victory for the Spanish side in 2022.

Since then, the relationship between the two clubs has been sour, and Trent Alexander Arnold has chosen to leave his boyhood club for the person responsible for refusing two Champions League medals right back.

The way Trent made the move certainly didn’t benefit him any way as the academy graduates left the free transfer.

The Reds have now made the move to sign forward, which is also wanted by Paris Saint-Germain.

Supporters were, naturally, very unhappy with Torrent’s departure, but Liverpool now had the opportunity to seize their Spanish nemesis by signing a £409 million advance with their Spanish nemesis.

Reports from Spain say Liverpool is now the biggest rival in the race for Nico Williams in Real Madrid’s Athletic Bilbao, and feels tempted to move to Anfield in ignoring interest from Spain.

Certainly Williams is willing to listen to offers from the English club. Being part of the Reds’ exciting frontline may be appealing to the forwards who come as welcome news for the Premier League champions.

Bilbao is desperate to hold the winger, but if the £409 million release clause is paid in full, it is increasingly likely that he will move to Anfield.

“Electric” Williams may be the perfect heir to Lewis Diaz

Lewis Diaz has yet to sign a new contract, and the Colombian is now approaching the penultimate year of his deal, and while interest from Barcelona could pose problems for the Reds, there are indications that Williams could become the ideal long-term alternative.

Bilbaostar, just 22 years old, has been a key player on the Laliga side for quite some time, making 166 appearances for his boyhood club, earning 11 goals and seven assists in all competitions this season.

Like Diaz, Spanish International likes to drive on the other side of the defense, ranked in the top 2% for successful take-ons per 90 people over the past year, and La Liga’s official media channels call him “Electric.”

Slots hopes Diaz will be seduced to extend his stay at Anfield by scoring a 13 Premier League goal this season, but Williams can quickly push the 28-year-old’s starting spot.
