Chelsea and Aston Villa reportedly are monitoring Ecuadorian defender Joel Ordnes ahead of any potential moves.

According to TBR Football, the two clubs were present to see a highly rated central defender when his country was playing against Argentina.

Crystal Palace is also enthusiastic about Ordones. Additionally, Arsenal has been linking with players in recent months.

Joel Ordonez’s Chelsea Monitoring Tab

Graeme Bailey said:

“He’s going to go to the World Cup final next summer, and I’m told he’s pretty sure he’s gone at that point.

“Because both Chelsea and Villa are long-term advocates of Ordonez, it’s important to see them both post scouts to monitor his progress and see actions against the power of the international Calibre strike, like Argentina.”

It remains to be seen whether they have decided to make a move for the players in the coming months. Ordonez is highly regarded throughout Europe and he has a bright future.

If they can get the deal done, he can develop into a quality player for Chelsea.

South America will be attracted to the idea of moving to the Premier League, and will be a great opportunity for him. He is impressed by the Belgian costume club Bruges and is expected to move soon.

The young defender wants to compete at the highest level, and it remains to be seen where he will go. Chelsea is one of the largest clubs in the world and recently won the Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup.

They will try to build a squad that can fight regularly for European football. They need high quality players freely and will be a solid long-term investment for South American defenders.

It will be interesting to see which of the two clubs can make a deal.
