Newcastle United striker Nick Woltemade may only have joined the club this summer, but he is already eyeing a future move.

The Germany international joined the Magpies after impressing with Bundesliga side Stuttgart, but it may not be too surprising that he harbors ambitions to return to his home country.

According to Bild, Voltemade, who was a target for Bayern Munich during his time at Stuttgart, hopes to one day play for Bayern Munich.

Voltemade scored 17 goals for Stuttgart last season and got off to a strong start at Newcastle, finding the back of the net five times in his first nine games in all competitions.

Still, it appears the 23-year-old may not be considering a long-term future at St James’ Park, as he remains keen on the possibility of joining Bayern one day.

As reported by Christian Falk of CF Bayern Insider, Voltemade was on Bayern’s list in the recent summer transfer window, but they were unable to sign a deal this time.

Newcastle have won the race to sign Wolte Maid, who has performed very well for Eddie Howe’s team so far as an important replacement for the departed Alexander Isaac.

NUFC won’t want to sell Walte Maid right away, but Bayern are Germany’s biggest team, so it’s no surprise that he sees it as a great move for his career.

Perhaps Newcastle can persuade him to stay in the team longer, but they are still far from being such a force in the game.

The club has invested heavily to close the gap on the traditional big six and is making good progress, but it will still take a little longer to reach where Manchester City ended up following a similar journey.
