Liverpool defeated Inter Milan 1-0 in the UEFA Champions League tonight.

The Reds were under immense pressure heading into the game, but Arne Slott will be delighted to have secured a much-needed win on the road. Victory against Inter Milan will definitely give Liverpool confidence for the upcoming games.

Liverpool are in a difficult situation at the moment and needed a win to lift the mood at the club. Apart from the disappointing performance, Mohamed Salah’s latest shocking interview has put a lot of unnecessary pressure on the team and the manager.

The Egyptian has been left out of the squad for recent matches and revealed to the media after the weekend’s draw with Leeds United that he had been forced to leave the club due to a breakdown in his relationship with his manager. Since then, there have been strong rumors that Egyptian could be sold in January. Despite all the fuss, Liverpool managed to put in a professional performance against the Italian team and will be happy with the result.

Ryan Gravenbirch was good

There were a number of impressive performances on the pitch for Liverpool, with Ryan Gravenbirch named Man of the Match. However, former Liverpool defender Stephen Warnock believes Curtis Jones and Dominik Szoboszlai were far more suitable candidates.

Warnock talks about Szoboszlai and Jones

He told the BBC: “I have nothing but contempt for Ryan Gravenbirch, who was man of the match. I think they could have given it to him. Otherwise Curtis Jones and Dominic would have been great.”

Both players practiced hard and delivered impressive performances in the middle of the park. The Hungarian national team scored the winning goal from the penalty spot in the closing stages. Szoboszlai is undoubtedly Liverpool’s best player this season, and has shown remarkable form this season.
