The atmosphere at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium turned sour on Tuesday night as supporters reached breaking point after a crushing 2-1 home defeat to Newcastle United.

When the final whistle rang, the message from the stands was unmistakable. The fan base has lost faith in coach Thomas Frank.

The most disgusting moment of the night occurred long after the ball had stopped rolling.

As Thomas Frank walked down the pitch towards the tunnel, he was met with a barrage of angry comments from the home supporters.

Prominent Tottenham fan Chris Cowlin captured the incident on social media, noting that he could hear fans shouting directly at the Danish manager: “It’s time to go.”

The dissatisfaction was not limited to just a few dissatisfied voices. A large section of the South Stand remained and voiced their disapproval, suggesting that Frank’s time may soon be over.

Fans also chanted Mauricio Pochettino’s name during the match.

The tension increased throughout the 90 minutes.

Mauricio Pochettino’s name began to echo throughout the stadium as Spurs found themselves trailing at half-time against Newcastle thanks to a goal from Malik Thiau.

The Argentine, who led the club to one of the most consistent successes of modern times, remains a benchmark for Spurs’ loyal fans.

By calling for the former manager while the current manager was still in the dugout, fans sent a clear message to the board that they want Pochettino back.

Thomas Frank was convinced that his job was safe.

Despite poor results and growing anger from supporters, Frank claimed after the match that he was confident he would not be sacked yet.

Speaking to the media after the latest defeat, he said: “I am confident that I will continue to be the manager. I understand the question and it’s easy to point fingers at me, but it’s about the club as a whole.”

It is now an urgent matter for the club as Spurs sit just five points above the relegation zone.

They decided to leave him with Frank for the rest of the season, and if his results do not improve, there is a strong possibility that he will be demoted.
