Spurs close to signing Martin Dubravka

The 37-year-old former Newcastle United shot-stopper spent the recent campaign at Turf Moor and was outstanding for Burnley, making 35 starts for the Clarets despite their eventual relegation from the Premier League.

Dubravka is available on a free transfer as his current contract expires in a week’s time on June 30th.

He has emerged as Tottenham’s top goalkeeper candidate and represents what would be a smart addition to the squad at zero cost.

The Slovakia international’s impending arrival is aimed at injecting significant top-level experience and maturity into Spurs’ goalkeeping department.

Guglielmo Vicario could leave the club, with Inter Milan showing strong interest in the Italian.

Dubravka’s arrival on a free transfer means the club brings in experienced reinforcements, while devoting major financial resources to rebuilding other areas of De Zerbi’s tactical system.

Dubravka has extensive experience in the Premier League

By signing Dubravka, Tottenham are acquiring a proven veteran with nearly a decade of experience at the highest level of English football.

As well as his last 35 games for Burnley, the Slovakian also spent six highly successful years at Newcastle United, making over 130 appearances in the top flight, winning the club’s Player of the Year award and helping them through the cutthroat competition in the top flight.

He also gained a deep understanding of the pressures that come with playing for a ‘big six’ club during his short spell at Manchester United.

Antonin Kinski expected to remain in the starting lineup under De Zerby

Dubravka has had an extensive career in the Premier League but is firmly in a secondary role.

Young Czech goalkeeper Antonin Kinski is fully expected to maintain his place as Tottenham’s starting number one.

Despite a disastrous debut in the Champions League against Atlético Madrid, the 23-year-old took charge from the second half of the season and finished the season with a bang, earning him rave reviews and a nomination for the Premier League Save of the Season award.

Kinski’s outstanding individual performances have been pivotal in helping Spurs get through an incredibly turbulent period and demonstrated his long-term potential within the hierarchy.

Signing a proven and reliable veteran like Dubravka gives Kinski the safety net and guidance he needs to fully establish himself, allowing him to lock in his position while ensuring the club’s defensive depth.
