Leeds is preparing for life in the Premier League, but will soon part ways with the player who has featured 35 times during the season that won the 2024-25 Championship title.

Leeds recognizes that major changes will be needed for Daniel Fark’s team before the August Premier League season begins. The idea is that there are many signatures, but there are also departures. Junior Furpo will leave Elland Road.

It has long been expected that Firpo will leave Leeds at the end of June when his current contract expires, which has disappeared. The 28-year-old has linked to many clubs in recent months, but it appears he’s now back in Spain.

Firpo spent four years at Real Betis before moving to Barcelona in 2019, and according to Mundo Deportivo (via Leedsunited.news), he is set to return to the UEFA Conference League finalist. The report states that discussions between the parties are at a high level and an agreement is expected to be reached this week.

Firpo was very impressive for Leeds during the 2024-25 season. He scored four goals and 10 assists throughout the campaign. His impending departure is a major blow to Fark, and he needs to be replaced well before the summer transfer window closes twice in early September.

It may not be just Leeds players moving to Betis this summer. Attacker Metjoseph has also been gaining interest in recent weeks. His exit will bring funds, but that is not the case with the Dominican Republic International.
